Mathematical Modeling of Respiratory Care

Abstract

In this paper we discuss some basic models for mechanical ventilation and its adjuncts. Various one-compartment models for pressure controlled ventilation are derived and analyzed. Using these ventilation models, recruitment, tracheal gas insufflation (TGI), and noninvasive ventilation are investigated.
